Introducing SHELL OMALA S2 GX150: Premium Industrial Gear Oil
For reliable performance and protection in heavy-duty industrial gearboxes, SHELL OMALA S2 GX150 is the go-to choice. This high-quality extreme-pressure (EP) oil is formulated to meet the varying needs of industrial gear systems, providing long-lasting protection and efficiency.
Performance, Features, and Benefits
Long Oil Life SHELL OMALA S2 GX150 offers exceptional oxidation stability and resistance to thermal stress. This results in a reduced total cost of ownership by minimizing the risk of thermal and chemical breakdown, even at bulk oil temperatures up to 100°C.
Excellent Wear and Micropitting Protection This oil is designed to deliver excellent load-carrying capacity and micropitting protection, ensuring long component life. It helps maintain gear system efficiency through optimized water separation performance, corrosion protection, and low foam forming tendency.
Effective Corrosion and Foam Control SHELL OMALA S2 GX150 provides excellent corrosion protection, even in the presence of seawater and solids contamination. Its formulation minimizes foaming, which is crucial in applications with marginal oil reservoir residence times.
Shear Stability The oil maintains viscosity stability throughout the service interval, ensuring consistent performance. It is compatible with popular seals, sealants, and engineering adhesives, helping to avoid leakage and ensuring compatibility with prevalent paint finishes.
Main Applications
Enclosed Industrial Gear Systems SHELL OMALA S2 GX150 is specifically designed for enclosed industrial gearboxes using steel-on-steel, spur, helical, or planetary gear drives. It is suitable for highly loaded systems with splash or forced circulation systems.
Non-Geared Applications The oil is also suitable for lubricating non-geared applications, including bearings and other steel-on-steel components with splash or forced circulation systems.
Other Applications For gear systems requiring synthetic lubricants, Shell recommends SHELL OMALA S4 GXV. For wind turbine main gear drives, SHELL OMALA S5 Wind 320 is recommended. For worm-wheel drives, Shell suggests using SHELL OMALA S4 WE, Shell Morlina S4 B, or Shell Omala S1 W. For automotive gear applications, the appropriate Shell Spirax Oil should be used.
For systems using filtration units finer than 10 microns, please consult your Shell Local Technical Advisor and Product Application Specialist before using SHELL OMALA S2 GX150.
