Introducing SHELL OMALA S4 GXV220: Advanced Synthetic Industrial Gear Oil
For reliable performance and protection in heavy-duty industrial gearboxes, SHELL OMALA S4 GXV220 is the ideal choice. This advanced synthetic oil offers outstanding lubrication under severe operating conditions, providing long service life, reduced friction, and high resistance to micro-pitting.
Performance, Features, and Benefits
Long Oil Life SHELL OMALA S4 GXV220 is formulated with an advanced additive system and specially selected synthetic base fluids. This provides outstanding resistance to breakdown over long durations and at high temperatures, operating successfully at bulk temperatures up to 120°C. It significantly extends service intervals compared to conventional industrial gear oils.
Excellent Wear and Corrosion Protection This oil offers excellent load-carrying capacity and micro-pitting performance, ensuring long component life even under shock loading conditions. It also provides superior corrosion protection, even in the presence of water and solids contamination.
Maintaining System Efficiency SHELL OMALA S4 GXV220 enhances the efficiency of industrial gear systems through improved low-temperature performance and lower friction compared to mineral oil-based products. This results in better lubrication at low start-up temperatures.
Main Applications
Gear Motor Systems and Inaccessible Installations SHELL OMALA S4 GXV220 is particularly recommended for systems where extra-long life is required, maintenance is infrequent, or systems are inaccessible. It is compatible with a wide range of seals, including nitrile rubber and fluoro-elastomers, meeting the demanding requirements of Siemens for Flender gearboxes and gear motors.
Enclosed Industrial Gear Systems This oil is recommended for industrial reduction gear systems operating under severe conditions, such as high load, very low or elevated temperatures, and wide temperature variations.
Other Applications SHELL OMALA S4 GXV220 is suitable for the lubrication of bearings and other components in circulating and splash-lubricated systems. For highly loaded worm drives, Shell recommends the Omala “W” series oils. For automotive hypoid gears, the appropriate Shell Spirax Oil should be used.
